A paid year working in industry, usually taken between the second and final years of a degree. Placements typically last around 12 months and give hands-on actuarial experience, sometimes with support for IFoA exams.

When do actuarial placement applications open?

Most open between September and December, for placements starting the following summer or autumn. Check with your university that your course allows a placement year.
